Darwin Wharf Fuel Line Decontamination
Pructon was required to reduce onsite hazards at the Darwin Wharf fuel facility. This required the elimination of the environmental and fire risks resulting from residual diesel in the tanks and fuel pipelines on the site.
The works required the removal of diesel from existing pipes on site and along the nearby Waterfront precinct. We were required to fill the pipeline with water at pressure and flush the line with detergent and fresh water. Waste water was tested and appropriately disposed.
Quality assurance compliance for this project, as per the client’s specification, was provided by means of an electronic atmosphere testing unit. All works were completed without incident and well ahead of project schedule.
