Overview

Pructon was engaged by Sydney Water to carry out the mechanical installation of all equipment associated with the $200 million Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade at Quakers Hill in Sydney. This extensive project involved the installation of mechanical equipment such as pipework, valves, and pumps. With a dedicated crew of over fifty-five personnel, Pructon successfully managed and delivered the installation of all mechanical systems through to the commissioning phase.

Scope of Work

  • Offsite Fabrication: Fabrication of piping and structural components conducted offsite to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Installation of Piping and Structural Steel: Comprehensive installation of piping and structural steel components throughout the facility.
  • Inlet Works Installation: Installation of all client-supplied items, including screens, chloride dosing systems, actuators, bypass screens, baffles, vortex inlets and outlets, motors, pumps, piping, and feed launders.
  • Inlet Apron Works: Installation of all client-supplied items, including pipework, motors, valves, pumps, access platforms, wash presses, grit classifiers, grit bins, backup water supply systems, and the main header.
  • Mechanical Primaries: Installation of penstocks and actuators, pipework, pumps, valves, and motors, including polymer dosing systems, screens, and de-gritted sewage feed channels, as well as sludge tanks.
  • Polymer Dosing Installation: Installation of polymer pump skids, UPVC pipework, platforms, safety showers, double containment piping, and FRP floor grating.
  • Hydrotesting: Conducted hydrotesting of all underground and above-ground piping to ensure integrity and safety.
  • Commissioning: Completed the commissioning phase to ensure all systems were operational and met client specifications.
