Katherine Power Station Transformer & Generator Foundations

Project Details

The scope of work was to construct a transformer slab with an explosion wall and large footings throughout the plant to accommodate the new generator unit and other structures.

All footings had an earthing grid attached and tied into the main grid installed by us. Each footing contained electrical conduits and hold-down bolts. A blinding layer was placed under each structure.

Scope of Work

  • Detailed excavation for footing and earthing grid
  • Surveying of site and footing locations
  • Design of formwork for the explosion barrier wall
  • Reinforcing steel, welding and tying into the earthing grid
  • Welding of earthing grid
  • Installation of electrical conduit
  • Pouring and finishing of concrete structures
