Project Details
Leichhardt Power Station delivers 60 MW of open-cycle gas turbine power generation. Pructon undertook the fabrication and installation of piping on the mineral lube lines, cooling water, fuel gas and fuel oil. We undertook on-site surface treatment and assisted with commissioning and testing.
High-pressure gas piping was fabricated and installed with over 600 butt welds completed with no recorded failures. Piping consisted of stainless steel, carbon to stainless steel, super duplex and carbon steel. Welds were 20% and 100% NDT for all high-pressure gas pipes.
Scope of Work
- Off-site fabrication of pipe and pipe supports
- On-site installation of pipe and support
- Hot tap tie-in to high-pressure feed line
- Pressure welding of carbon and stainless steel pipe
- Press fit piping
